My name is Daley Whitaker and this is my fifth year teaching first grade. I come from Washington, D.C. where I taught first grade for three years in D.C. Public Schools. Prior to that, I went to school at American University where I studied elementary education. Reading education is my passion and as a member of the DC Reading Clinic, I was able to spread the Science of Reading to my colleagues. I moved to Denver in 2021 and have been teaching in Denver Public Schools ever since. I love to play with my dog, spend time outside hiking, and get dinner with friends.

While I am technically a native of Denver, I grew up in Idaho. I love outdoor activities like camping and fishing, as well as being snuggled up indoors with a good book or cooking for my friends and family. I went to the University of Denver for my undergrad in Spanish and international studies but graduated from Relay School of Education for my Master’s. I have been at McGlone for the last 7 years and worked as a math fellow, paraprofessional, and now homeroom teacher. I love our McGlone family!
