A Letter From Our Principal
Hello McGlone Family and Community:
My name is Sara Gips Goodall, and I am the very the proud principal of McGlone Academy. This year marks my seventh year here at McGlone and my sixth as principal, and it has been a true honor to get to work and lead in our McGlone community.
It is McGlone’s mission that together, we will ensure that all learners achieve excellence in academics and the arts, while simultaneously empowering kids, families and staff in our Montbello community as diverse and equitable changemakers. At McGlone, we have phenomenal educators who spend hours planning engaging and rigorous classroom learning activities and we work hard to build and maintain a wonderful school environment that treats everyone as a family. We live our core values daily, as we believe that all individuals who work, learn and collaborate in our school will achieve, wonder, empathize, collaborate and advocate to strengthen our Montbello community.
Being a part of McGlone for seven years has allowed me to see changes and grow with our community! When I started, we had only one building and only 500 kids. We are now a proud ECE-8 Academy serving 930 students. We built this together, staff, students and families, and we will continue to work together every year to grow stronger and stronger.
I know that in three years, our little son David will start at McGlone as a Lobito in ECE and I could not be prouder to lead a school where I will send my own child. ¡Ser parte de esta comunidad es un orgullo – sí, hablo español!
We love hearing from you and ensuring that our families are involved. Please scroll through our website – I hope that you will find it helpful and informative. All of the information we send out in our Friday Flyer and on Social Media can also be found on this site. If we have not yet met, welcome to our school community! Please come by and introduce yourself – or come to a Wednesday family meeting or one of our many after school events.
