Dear McGlone Academy Community,
We are excited to announce that Mr. Mayorvy Cifuentes has been selected as the next leader at McGlone Academy for the 2022-2023 school year and beyond. We are confident Principal Cifuentes will continue to build upon the many strengths of McGlone Academy and that he will carry on and expand McGlone’s foundation of success for students.
As Mr. Cifuentes shared in his biography, he has spent the last 23 years serving students, families, and their communities in many districts in Colorado. Most recently, Mr. Cifuentes served at University Hills Elementary, a Bilingual school in the Boulder Valley School District.
Mr. Cifuentes shared, “I lead by ensuring equitable practices and breaking the chains of oppression that have been built into the education system since its inception. The teams of the schools I served and led worked hard to help open doors, provide supporting hands in and against major obstacles. I have worked hard to answer the call to make a difference by unlocking the potential of all our students so it becomes a reality by working together to define a different destiny… I ask you to join me in opening doors for a better future by being change agents and shaping a future in which students can choose their own destiny. Let’s use our relationships, open our hearts so we can lift the community together to pave a road of success at Mcglone Academy.”
We are delighted to have Principal Cifuentes join Team DPS and serve the McGlone community!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed input and feedback. A huge thank you and our sincerest gratitude also goes out to the School Accountability Board (SAB) for their commitment and being an integral part of this process. This committee served the school community very well and their unwavering commitment to the ongoing success of McGlone Academy was apparent at every turn.
